The Coastline dogs are bred with care given to all the features
mentioned in the breed standard, including character. Beyond
seeking to breed dogs of good health and excellence, I follow
my own desire in trying to breed beautiful dogs.
Breedings here are not frequent as this kennel does not have
a desire to breed beyond what I feel I can do to help maintain
what is best for the breed including the proper environment
and home for such dogs.
The briard, while a wonderful family dog, is still not a breed
for everyone. It was never intended to be. The Briard is a dog
for a passionate dog lover who seeks an active, alert, interactive
companion.
It is a breed that wants and needs a lot of time with his owner.
For activity the breed can be asked to sheep and duck herd,
do agility, tracking, rescue, or obedience.
Some prove to be able therapy dogs, some excel in the sport
of Schutzhund. The briard, properly socialized is a wonderful
family dog. I call it the great " all purpose" dog. ( The coat
does require " maintenance" )

There are many other fine breeders out there and I also thank
them for their diligence to maintaining the breed as it is meant
to be, and giving me good things to try to master, think about,
and compete against.
